Channeling my Inner Michelle Obama - Garnerstyle

Channeling my Inner Michelle Obama

I couldn't let my fresh salon hair go to waste, so I decide the hubby and I should go to a weekday dinner.  Since March 1st has passed it's already spring in my head and all bright colors are free game.  After getting dressed I felt very Michelle.  So what should one do but throw on the presidential pearls.

The first lady loves her tailored pencil skirts, as do I.  With this skirt, I had the slit closed and the waist taken in for the perfect fit.  As I take a break from trendy, it's always nice to go back to the "lady like" look.

Look at that wind action she is getting through her tresses too...LOL.

  1. Michelle Obama is my hero. She is so unapologetic about being a strong black woman. She is such a great role model for black girls & women!

Your outfit definately looks like something she would wear. Classy and timeless!

  4. I bought the same skirt but sent it back because it was too big. IDK, because I ordered in my usual size, but it ran big. It looks lovely on you!

    1. Yes it did run big, but I just got my tailor to take in the waist for me. I used to clothes never fitting me perfectly, so I just run them over to my seamstress shop.

  14. I have never thought about getting the slit sewn shut. That's such a good idea! It creates a much sexier silhouette. Thanks for the tip :)
