JIBRI: Pretty Woman

JIBRI, JIBRI plus size spring collection
Just released, JIBRI brings in summer with the most ladylike and feminine of pieces.  My favorite is the one above. I see myself at brunch with white gloves on eating salmon mousse on Capeachio crackers.  Now I have sidetracked myself and I'm hungry.  Am I a the only one who imagines themselves in an outfit at a particular event? Anyways.  the dresses are absolutely gorgeous.  You can see more of these pieces here.

  1. The peices look lovely online however I must say that I am not impressed with my first purchase I found the material to be stiff with no movement. My order got 'lost' (the tracking number assigned to it showed it was never picked up for delivery) it took 2 months To get my order. For the price even though it is 'our couture' I would expect better. I still think the pieces photograph lovely but I swear I feel like y skirt was made out of upholstery fabric. The workmanship is lovely .

  2. Eek! I will say that the post office is the devil, because I shop online so much I've had many things get "lost" through them. I got some accessories that I bought recently that are floating around in lost USPS world. They are the worst. As far as JIBRI...I've never had your experience, but at the end of the day if you don't like a brand/designer, you can take your money elsewhere. I do it all the time, some designers/brands just don't work for me or my body type. There are so many awesome choices out there now.

    1. I agree I think my hoped were super high because her stuff looks so amazing you. It's not the silhouette I'm concerned about it was just the fabric choice I saw you ridin a bike in a jibri skirt and trust me my skirt would never let me do any such thing lol! It's really stiff. I was happy that she rectified the sHipment siituation from the looks it was never sent out at all. I may try again in the future

    2. Yeah, I have several of the skirts, most are in a heavier cotton. That orange skirt was made out of a different fabric than my others. I encourage everyone when ordering anything to read the fabric content and to familiarize themselves with fabrics, so that when they order online they can have an idea of how the fabric is. Unfortunately, plus size girls have to do this because we don't get the opportunity to shop a lot in stores.

  3. I had a bad experience with JIBRI as well. Slow production, slow shipping, poor quality. Even if that were not the case, this designer seems to be solely capable of reproducing the same silhouette in different patterns every season. Never anything new. IJS, you give her mad love on this blog which inspired my initial purchase but now...I just don't get it.

    1. I love the fit, quality, and designs. it's hard for me to find pieces to fit the lower half of my body like these anywhere else. Her pieces work perfect for my body. I'd rather buy pieces that fit me perfect than pieces that just fit me so so. I probably have over 20 pieces and I love each one of them. But like I said they work for me, I can't speak for anyone else. Most regular designers have a signature aesthetic and produce similar pieces each with different fabric. Think Dianne von Furstenburg and Calvin Klein. They've been doing the same designs for over 20 years. But as stated above, the great thing about plus size now is that you have choices and you can speak to who you like and who you don't with your dollars.

    2. You're right. That's why I haven't purchased from her since. I also feel that since we have so many options we should rely on one another for opinions. I'm glad they work for you, I just want folks considering spending that kind of money to know that it's not always what it seems IMO.

    3. That's the great thing about blogs, social media, and yelp, etc..everyone has the option share their opinion on how a brand/retailer/etc worked or didn't work for them. I voice my opinion all the time about brands and retailers...good and bad.

  5. No, you are not the only one that thinks of a particular outfit for a particular even I do to!!! When I saw the pink and white dress my mind said this would be perfect for a nice tea & crumpets with my little pinky finger sticking out lol.

  6. Jibri seems to cater to plus size ladies with a defined waistline and big hips. I admit her designs are striking. I know nothing about the fabric or quality, so I won't comment on that. All I can say is, in the photos and on you, Chastity, they look great. Looks like they were made for you. I keep hoping plus size designers begin to offer fashion for rectangle, apple and circle shapes.

    1. JIBRI works for all body types and actually creates an hourglass silhouette for apples, rectangle, & circle shapes. Ive seen ovals given new body shapes just due to her shape giving sillouettes. Its hard to believe unless youve tried on the garnents but I seen miracles happen just by putting on a Jibri garment.
