Trend Alert: Peplum Jackets

I was surfing through my monthly Lucky magazine and came across their Trends section. Peplum Jackets was one of the trends and I was thinking how peplum jackets and peplum jackets are so flattering for any girl, but especially a Curvy Girl. Peplums Jackets particularly make the waist look like the smallest part of the body, because of the cinched waists. Giving the Curvy Girl the sought after feminine silhouette.

I recently purchased a peplum jacket from Jibri that I am oh so excited about. The jacket was $175. I paired it with Norma Kamali for Wal-Mart Leggings($10.00) and NK for Wal-Mart Convertible Dress($20). FYI, I do not recommend the leggings from NK for Wal-Mart they are really thin. I then added a pair of shoes from Beverly Feldman on sale at NM Last Call for $108.00. Can I say I love my new shoes...they were part of my Valentine's Day Gift.

I hope you guys like, because I sure do!

  1. i love how you add your pops of color. those shoes are cute and i really like how they're heels but not too high. i'm not feeling those leggings though. the jacket is nice but i'm still trying to let the peplum stlye grow on me. i bought the charcoal tweed peplum tank dress from torrid a while ago but i haven't worn it yet. i have to get it taken in on the bottom so it hugs my curves better and the peplum does what it's supposed to - frame my hips and butt. i'll send you a pic.

  7. I love peplum as well and I think you look great! I bought this peplum skirt at Ashley Stewar the other day and I love it. It was one the sale rack for like 7 bucks and was a size 16 (I'm a 18/20). I was able to shoehorn myself into the dress eventually!

  9. Omgosh I didn't even know about the NK collection at Wal-Mart! I live in Western Mass and we just don't GET stuff like that here - I just went to the website and went on a spree!

I love that you mix stuff like I do - I mix my goodwill vintage finds, with COACH bags and homemade jewelry. Love reading!
