I couldn't let my fresh salon hair go to waste, so I decide the hubby and I should go to a weekday dinner. Since March 1st has passed it's already spring in my head and all bright colors are free game. After getting dressed I felt very Michelle. So what should one do but throw on the presidential pearls.
The first lady loves her tailored pencil skirts, as do I. With this skirt, I had the slit closed and the waist taken in for the perfect fit. As I take a break from trendy, it's always nice to go back to the "lady like" look.
Outfit Logistics: Top - Kiyonna $64, Skirt - Asos $53, Bag - Ted Baker $235 (gifted from hubby for V-Day), Pearls - $60, Shoes - IDK (I forgot) $30
Look at that wind action she is getting through her tresses too...LOL.
Michelle Obama is my hero. She is so unapologetic about being a strong black woman. She is such a great role model for black girls & women!
ReplyDeleteYour outfit definately looks like something she would wear. Classy and timeless!
She probably wouldnt carry my purse..LOL...but just the same I love her. She is everything a woman should be.

I bought the same skirt but sent it back because it was too big. IDK, because I ordered in my usual size, but it ran big. It looks lovely on you!

Yes it did run big, but I just got my tailor to take in the waist for me. I used to clothes never fitting me perfectly, so I just run them over to my seamstress shop.
DeleteBeautiful. Love this look on you. Makes me want to go out and buy the entire outfit.

I have never thought about getting the slit sewn shut. That's such a good idea! It creates a much sexier silhouette. Thanks for the tip :)
