I can't believe Dallas has had some day where I can logically wear my new spring coat. I thought I was going to have to wait until next year to whip out this Clements Ribeiro for Evans piece. This coat gave me the perfect opportunity to switch things up with this skirt, a previously worn piece. I love the combination of these three prints. It's so fun!
Some of you may be wondering about the Clements Ribeiro Plus Size Collection for Evans. I have to be honest, I had never heard of this designer before Evans put out the line. I must say I could see myself buying almost every piece. I actually bought two items, this coat and this dress. I decided to keep the coat. It is so hard to find a fabulous plus size spring coat. The definitely coat gave me a Carrie Bradshaw feel. Her coats so effortlessly stepped up her outfits. Anyways, the fabric was lovely and the weight of the coat was just perfect for those chillier spring days. I will say the dress I bought and returned was cut extremely straight. It was a beautiful dress and I would have loved to try a different size, but Evans doesn't have free shipping or free returns. That was a turn off for me. I suggest if you order, order one size up and be prepared to get it tailored if you have a curvier body type. For you straighter gals this may be the perfect fit for you. I didn't hear a lot of hype around this collection, I am thinking it was because of the price points. This line was a bit more expensive than the regular Evans clothing. I thought the clothes were well worth the price though. From what I saw, the clothing matches the pricing.
Outfit Logistics: Top - Old Navy $25, Skirt - Asos $44 (sold out), Spring Coat - Evans Clements Ribeiro Collection $165, Necklace - Liz Claiborne $15 (super old), Belt - Michael Kors $42, Shoes - Nordstrom Rack $35
Your question are coming left and right and I love it! To help with your shapewear questions I will start to post the under garment I am wearing with the current outfit. What am I wearing underneath this ensemble? See this Spanx High Waisted Shaper in Plus Sizes.
Have any of you picked up a piece from the Clements Ribeiro Collection for Evans?
I absolutely love that jacket!! This whole outfit is sooo pretty on you!!

I never ordered from Evans, but I have been curious about the fit. This post was helpful! I have dabbled into Dorothy Perkins and New Look, but never this UK based store. Fab look:-)
ReplyDeleteI will say that this Collection is a lot more structured than their regular stuff...it seemed to be correct sizing. Regular Evans clothing runs a little big to me.
DeleteI do have a question about shapewear, in the winter for some outfits I wear it and find it to be perfect to wear but in the warmer days I fear that I would be so hot, do you find that happening or does the brand you wear not cause that? I also love the outfit!
ReplyDeleteI wear the same one in the winter...I hats for my thighs to touch...I also wear deoderant between my legs it keeps me dry
Deletesuper adorable outift! I have the worse luck with high-waisted shapewear..always rolls down :((

They have some that actually attach to your bra --- I havent tried, but looks like it may work
DeleteI so love that coat. And I agree that Carrie's coats and blazers always stepped up her outfit game. I'm also mad that I missed out on the ASOS skirt. You look very NYC chic in this.
ReplyDeleteLove the print of the coat! It can be worn with so many things. I saw the skirt on ASOS but was too chicken to buy it. It looks marvelous on you! I like that you arent afraid to try different trends. You look great!
ReplyDeleteThis jacket is super dope! I saw this line when it 1st came out and I loved the sheer maxi dress. Pattern mixing is one of my favorite things to do. Love it! Oh and I would die without my SPANX! lol Kiah
ReplyDeleteThank you, Thank you, Thanks you, I have been wondering what foundations to wear with what for the most effectiveness. I love that you will post the type of foundation you are wearing.
ReplyDeleteI honestly only regularly wear 3 different ones, but I think it will help to answer some of the foundation questions.
DeleteI've never heard of the line but will definitely go and check it out, the coat is super cute and definitely a nod to Carrie!
ReplyDeleteVery cute! Love the way you paired the top with that skirt, I would have never thought of that combination.

No to mention you are BEAUTIFUL!!! I love your honesty regarding shapewear and several other "taboo" topics. Please continue to post your beautiful outfits, you keep us plus sized ladies inspired!
ReplyDeleteI'm in LOVE with that coat. I wasn't moved when I saw it on the Evans site when they launched the line but you rocked it!
Thank you Julia
Delete!!! and I'm so glad you decided to join in on the commenting :)
You look great in belts!! What full figured shapes do you think can get away with belts? All or just certain body shapes?
ReplyDeleteThank you
I think all can wear them you just have to find the waist that is most flattering for your body. Most plus size women have a upper (under the bust), middle (around the belly button), and lower waist. Try all 3 areas and find that one that best works for you body type
DeleteGorgeous looks and inspiring site!
